Photo Voice
The Youth ImPact collaborative devoted the first part of our grant efforts to document the voices of young people through a survey and a photo project we called Zoom In. We challenged young people to express their feelings about the positive and negative aspects to living in Windham County. (Positive Attitude AND Lots More Positive Attitude). By sharing this data at organizational meetings, in galleries and news articles, we are challenging all young people and adults in Windham County to respond and create even more ways to enhance opportunities for healthy development of our young people: simply taking a "more positive attitude" toward the young people we see each day, offering jobs for young people locally, getting youth representation in their agency or collaborative, volunteering at the Boys and Girls club or signing up at Youth Services to be a "big brother or big sister." Invite us to present to your board, organization, or event and give us your ideas about where you'd like to see us present these research findings. Contact Andi Waisman.
